When location owners say that they'll let you film but you need insurance they are usually refering to public liability insurance.
This is for my feature. Nothing to do with my fucking mongoloid uni whatsoever.
I've thought about seeing if somehow I could wrangle uni to cover it, but judging from the pain the arse it is to actually get a camera from them, I'm gonna assume not.

It's kind of a complicated situation... See, I work at Wilkos, this particular one located in a shopping center. The store next to ours closed a while ago, so we're expanding into it. But we're only getting half of their warehouse due to extortionate rent fees. The unused half of the warehouse will be my location.
Right now, there's an argument going on as to who actually owns this no man's land. Wilkos are saying they don't since they're not paying rent for it, but the center is saying they haven't had it signed over to them yet.
I asked my boss if it was public liability insurance I needed, and she said "no, since there won't be any members of the public down there."
So, it's basically to cover our own asses. If we impale ourselves on hooks doing stunts, blow up a wall and structurally damage the place, etc... Looking at that Culpeck site, I'm not sure which policy would cover that.
It's at this point I wish I remembered anything from GCSE business studies...
UA, is there any way you could have this short film fall under one of your modules at University so that you could be covered?
My Uni would only cover me for short films which were part of my course so made a short film that was part of a studient initiated project which didn't have that many guidelines for the module. Perhaps you could do the same?
